Build Phase
You can’t just think. You must do.
When creating a new model of health care, where do you start?
What was the common denominator?
What did everyone have in common besides the stress?
The answer was so simple we missed it for a while.
The common denominator is the BODY.
We all have the same body.
What we mean is that our physiology is all the same. We all have one heart, liver, two eyes, a brain. And they all work the same way.
That was the secret sauce.
That would be the common language that could bind and include ALL categories of providers to be on the same page.
No more jargon.
No more miscommunication based on specialties.
Everyone connected via the foundational biology of the human body. And best of all, no arguments. Everyone agrees that the body systems functions in a certain way.
It’s genius!
But we haven’t built anything yet. LOL.
Now we had the foundation. The next important question was, “where to start?”
We looked to human development.
When we are born, what are the systems that develop first?
We develop neurologically, our gut microbiome develops as we pass through the birth canal via mom (the initial smear). Then we begin to use our digestive systems by processing breast milk.
Okay, we can work with that.
So the program we developed starting with identifying the baseline requirements for proper neurologic development- spinal curvatures based on natural development from raising the head, sitting up, crawling and eventually standing. All of which requires the development of proprioception.
Proprioception put simply is your bodies’ awareness of where you are in space. Properly being able to assess that information helps ensure your brain sends the correct information to your body so that it can navigate. An example would be, if I asked you to navigate your bedroom in the dark you could probably do it without banging into all of the furniture. Now you can imagine how important proprioception is to move through the “uneven” environments in your life.
We then progressed to understanding other areas of neurologic development, digestion, and your gut microbiome.
Now, many people have done work in this area also.
What makes us unique is our perspective; we want to understand how to get you to baseline. In other words, what is ideal?
ASK BETTER QUESTIONS.
What is the brain’s ideal neurologic function when it comes to proprioception, balance, etc.?
What is the ideal microbiome environment and what is necessary to achieve that?
What is ideal digestion and how does each organ contribute to support those roles?
More research.
More learning.
We needed a better understanding in order to build a model towards optimal health; to build the Hierarchy Medicine program.
Then, we finally did it.
We built the program.
Broken down into 4 major phases:
- Stress-HPA axis and the gut microbiome.
- Digestion
- Detoxification
- Cellular Replication
Everything the body needs to heal itself could be addressed under these major categories. Understand what they do, how they do it, what they need to optimize their function, and you have a care plan for how to make that happen.
The journey towards optimal health can begin!
What does that mean?
Our definition of optimal health- our bodies operating as close to ideal as possible.
And if you are moving toward optimal health, you are moving farther away from disease.
Mic drop.
